
1. The last date to apply for MBA/MBA-BA/MBA-HRM at IIM Ranchi for foreign students is May 17, 2026 till 2:00 PM IST. Candidates are required to apply separately to IIM Ranchi in addition to having a valid GRE/GMAT score.
2. There are 6 seats available for foreign students (non-Indian passport holders) in MBA and 2 each in MBA-BA/MBA-HRM batch at IIM Ranchi. Indian passport holders are ineligible to apply for these seats.
3. Candidates are required to fill in the information very carefully in the form and must cross-check the form before the final submission. Candidates will be solely liable for any information submitted. Candidates are advised to apply as soon as possible to avoid last-minute rush.
4. Once the candidate has submitted the application form, no modification in the application form will be allowed. In all such cases, the candidate has to cancel the application form within the specified time and re-apply using a different email ID and will have to pay the application fees again. No refund will be provided for application fee of a cancelled form. Forms can be cancelled till the last date of submission of application forms. If a candidate fails to submit a new application after cancellation of the previous form, the cancelled form will not be considered.
5. Candidates who have been awarded Grades or CGPA for Class X, Class XII, Bachelor’s Degree Programme should fill in an equivalent percentage of marks as per the instructions of their respective education board/council. All the subjects mentioned in the marksheet should be considered for calculating the percentage unless there is any instruction from the specific Board/Council/University. Candidates should not consider Best 4/ Best 5 subjects unless the concerned Board/ Council/University provides any specific instructions for the same. In case the Board/ Council/University itself mentions the percentage on the marksheet, or provides a conversion formula, it should be used. In case the board does not specify any conversion formula, the candidates just multiply the average CGPA of all the subjects mentioned in the marksheet by 9.5.
6. Candidates, who have not been awarded any Grade or percentage for Class X, XII and/or Bachelor’s Degree and have been promoted through a valid official order of competent authority during COVID-19, should fill in “Promoted” in place for the percentage of Marks.
7. Filling the correct information in each field is the sole responsibility of the candidate, and no email or other communication regarding modification will be entertained by IIM Ranchi.
8. If any information/document provided by a candidate is found to be wrong/incorrect/fraudulent at any point of time, his/her candidature or admission (if admitted) will be cancelled by IIM Ranchi, and the decision of IIM Ranchi will be final and binding on candidates. The candidature and admission are provisional and subject to submission of valid information/ documents, and payment of necessary fee within specified time.
9. The application fee for all candidates is USD USD 100 for each Programme (MBA, MBA-BA, MBA-HRM). You have to pay through this Link. Only after payment you have to fill this form as you need to fill the payment details inside the form.
10. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to keep on checking their registered email ID (including Spam, Promotion etc. folder), IIM Ranchi website, and registered mobile number for any update/notification from IIM Ranchi. The institute will not be responsible in case a candidate misses any communication/deadline.
11. Candidates must choose to fill either a valid GMAT or GRE score (any one). Filling the correct GMAT ID and Appointment Number (for GMAT) or Registration Number (for GRE) is the sole responsibility of the candidate. Any candidate who has filled incorrect information including but not limited to GMAT ID and Appointment Number (for GMAT) or Registration Number (for GRE) understand that their candidature may stand cancelled without any intimation and no further communication in this regard will be entertained. No opportunity may be provided to candidates to make any corrections. Candidates can choose any one of the two entrance examinations (GRE/GMAT) at the time of application and no change will be allowed later on.
12. For admission into MBA/MBA-BA/MBA-HRM batch of IIM Ranchi, only valid GRE or GMAT score will be accepted for foreign students. For application to IIM Ranchi, the candidate must have applied based on GRE/GMAT scores obtained in an examination that they appeared in within the last 5 years. The validity date would be determined based on the last date of application to IIM Ranchi.
After the application deadline, a minimum cut-off score of GMAT/GRE will be set to call candidates for an interview.
After the interview, a final composite score would be prepared based on the following criteria:
(i) 70% weightage to GMAT/GRE Score
(ii) 30% weightage to Personal Interview
Candidates will be sent offer for admissions based on their composite score and availability of seats.
GMAT/GRE score equivalence would be determined by tool available at https://www.in.ets.org/gre/bschool-comparison-tool.html
In addition to having a valid GRE/GMAT score, candidates must have 50% or a CGPA of 6/10 or equivalent CGPA in other scales, in their undergraduate degree (or equivalent). CGPA equivalent would be considered if the percentage score or conversion is unavailable.
13. The Personal Interview (PI) process is tentatively scheduled online in the month of May/June 2026. However, the mode of PI Process may be subject to change.
14. Application fee, once paid, is non-refundable under any circumstances. For all such candidates who make any mistake in the application, they are required to cancel the form and apply again using a different email id and will have to pay the application fee again.

16. Candidates are advised to fill the GMAT ID and Appointment Number (for GMAT) or Registration Number (for GRE), very carefully in the application form.
17. In case a candidate submits more than one application and does not cancel the previous ones, the latest application submitted by the candidate will only be considered final.
18. Candidates must possess a foreign citizenship (non-Indian passport) at the time of application and at the time of admission. Candidates will be required to obtain an appropriate Student Visa to study in India along with adequate finances to complete his/her study in the program. Obtaining necessary visa and arranging finances is the sole responsibility of the student.
19. All disputes will be subject to exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India.
20. Candidates who do not fulfil the eligibility criteria will be disqualified and/or candidature may be cancelled at any stage (including after admission). IIM Ranchi reserves the right to cancel the admission process for foreign students at any time without assigning any reason thereof.
21. Candidates should first register in the Study in India (SII) Portal (https://www.studyinindia.gov.in/) and apply to IIM Ranchi through the SII portal for each programme which they are interested in. Then, they should apply for each programme separately on the IIM Ranchi application webpage as a foreign student. Applying for the programmes both through the SII Portal and IIM Ranchi's application webpage is mandatory.
